Emory is a certified herbalist focusing on neurologically enhancing plants, a NC state licensed and nationally certified speech language pathologist, past university professor, certified reiki practitioner, certified myofascial release practitioner, VitalStim provider, LSVT certified, and provider of medical Qi-gong.
Emory received her Baccalaureate degree in Communications Media, Advertising from Appalachian State University in 1986, her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech Language Pathology, from Western Carolina University in 1993, and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Natural Health Sciences from the University of Natural Medicine in 2017.
Emory always served as a “medical speech pathologist” in western health care settings (acute and sub-acute) where she practiced for 25 years, serving patients in western NC area hospitals, nursing homes, home health and outpatient clinics. Finding methods of complementing or even surpassing western medicine for neurological health became her passion. Through 6 years of doctoral studies, she has carried her research into finding enhancing blends of herbs that have the potential to improve brain health, specifically cognitive function.
THE HERBAL BRAIN began as Magic Stone Herbals, a humble “gifting” business. Emory always loved to give natural remedies to speech therapy patients and others who were asking for wellness products and ideas to improve their brain health and cognitive function. With Emory’s Ph. D. studies and research on HERBAL NOOTROPICS came even more knowledge and experience of botanical medicine and greater requests for products and information. Magic Stone Herbals is now “THE HERBAL BRAIN, LLC” a business which is located in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina, on the Magic Stone property. The Magic Stone home and gardens are considered by many a spiritual place of healing. Magic Stone, LLC was born in early 2016, and The Herbal Brain, LLC in early 2019.
